The Watchman
Ezekiel 33:6
But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman's hand.

Lately I have been in a funk or depression. I thought for a while that I was done writing and to be honest I was questioning whether or not I was really supposed to be doing this at all because it really doesn't seem like I am getting very far. I guess the best way to describe this is that a darkness came over me that I couldn't shake. I prayed about it and prayed about it but I just could not seem to get back to the point where I could feel the peace and joy of the Lord. I would start to come out of darkness for a bit only to be plummeted back in.
Then one morning I woke up and realized that God was trying to tell me something and that I was rebelling against it! Once I realized this and stopped rebelling I began to feel alive again!

This experience made me realize that there are other people out there just like me! Other frustrated watchmen and women who are trying to wake people up to the truth while there is still time!

The message that shook me out of my funk was that something really bad is about to happen. This made me see that I need to try harder.

So I want to get into the basics of what it means to be a watchman because I now understand that there are other watchmen reading this website and that you need support and encouragement too.

I believe myself to be a watchman! I do not and will not call myself a prophet although watchmen and prophets often share similar attributes.

A watchman is someone who (in Biblical terms) watches what is happening in the world and compares it to Biblical Prophesy and blows the alarm.

The simple truth is that Biblical prophesy concerning the end of days is coming true at an amazing rate! Sometimes even at a daily or even hourly rate!
Anyone who is really paying attention cannot deny this!

Jesus said:
Matthew 24:34
Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.

So who is “this generation”?

This is the generation who see's the beginning of the Biblical prophesies concerning the end of days.

This generation began with the fulfillment of the first sign ..... the rebirth of Israel as a nation! This happened in 1948. 71 years ago! Does this give you an idea of the urgency of the hour?

The truth is that we are living in an amazing age and this generation will see all of these things come to pass including the return of Jesus Christ!

For the watchmen this is both thrilling and heartbreaking!

We know that the Lord will soon return but we also know that billions of people will perish including people who we love dearly and this is a hard reality!

Watchmen live in two different realities. For us God, Jesus and heaven are reality....the single most important reality that exists! Heaven is so real to us that we feel like we could almost reach out and touch it! Yet we must endure living in this world knowing that most of the people we know are going into destruction by their own will and all we can do is try to wake up as many as possible and pray that something or someone will put that little scrap of information into their minds that will cause them to ask questions... cause them to seek out the truth while they still can!

Watchmen do not come about by accident. Either we were chosen by God for this specific assignment or we told God at some point to use us as he sees fit and were given this assignment and purpose....or both.

No matter how this came about the truth is that this is a very difficult and often painful life to live.

We are often mocked, scorned, ridiculed or even treated like lunatics for having the audacity to tell people what, for us is so clearly true! And in all honestly we can only expect things to get worse! The Bible clearly tells us that many of us will endure pain and suffering or even death yet we know that we must keep going... we must try to rescue as many as possible. The love of Christ, the love for our brothers and sisters demands this! To do otherwise is pure selfishness and this is the exact opposite of love!

Unfortunately being a watchman is a very lonely and frustrating life. There is no one who I can talk to about the reality of this life and the frustration of knowing that people simply do not want hear the truth can often be overwhelming.

Unfortunately most people have no idea how important their beliefs actually are or that they need to actively seek out the truth! Most people want to live in the comfort zone of their own personal beliefs and will not look at anything which challenges those beliefs and this is the worst possible thing that anyone can do...... Take heed that no one deceives you! Matthew 24.

So my fellow watchmen and women, take heart and keep moving forward! We will not reach everyone but we will reach some! There are people out there seeking the truth, seeking the inheritance promised to them by God. We must be a light for those trying to find their way out of darkness!
